For Auld Lang Syne

Patrick was very worked up about taking Dailey to the Child Development Center here on base so we could go to the New Years Party. (Momma who though she adores every minute she spends with Daileyanne was VERY into the idea of a break for the evening)We dropped her off right at eight. He insisted on carrying her in, signing the books, walking her around the room, introducing her to the sitters and lecturing the other baby on how he wasn't allowed to make eyes at Dailey. Finally I dragged him out of the center and on to the party. Three hours later we get a phone call from the front desk. Seems Dailey had started crying once we were out the door and hadn't stopped. Even the Grand-Ma-Ma of the center couldn't soothe her!
You know in Looney Tune cartoons when they take off so fast they leave a plume of dust behind? >>>>>>>>Whooosh>>>>> went Patrick and pop went the sound barrier! 30 seconds after we walked in the door she quit sobbing and beamed us a "Well there you are" grin! We showered her with kisses, headed home and jumped into our jammies just in time to see Dick Clark escort in 2009.
Kind of a nice reminder of how we brought in last year- Same party, same dress, same sweetheart to kiss at midnight and an unexected twist at the end of the night caused by the same sweet baby. This year I'm glad she's making her presence known in person...hugging a chubby baby is Soooo much nicer then hugging a toliet bowl!
I can't imagine 2009 could bring us anything more wonderfull then 2008 did. We love you DAB!
