More labor day pictures

Peter is into this Uncle idea and I'm looking much more cheerfull now that I'm pleasently numb. He had to go back to the Air Show to do a swearing in while the Thunderbirds did a fly by. Cool thing is we figured out that they were also giving Dailey a Welcome Fly By as well! They zoomed over the hospital five minutes after she was born!

Mom calling Dad to let him know we were having a baby in the near future.. near future turned out to be 16 minutes after she hung up!

Welcome to the world Daileyanne! We were able to stick with our birth plan- The cord stayed attached until it stopped pulsing (if we were going to store it there was no reason for her not to at least get all that good blood returned to her!) she was put on me quickly and stayed skin to skin for awhile. I wasn't worried about her getting cleaned up as much as I was letting us bond. True this led to her sticking her vernix covered fingers in my MOUTH but it was great having her sit with me and not swooped away to be scrubbed down.

Check out great hat number 6 that Mimi Laura knitted for her. Best dressed baby on the floor!

Once she had her eye drops and a real scrubbing we asked for skin to skin to continue. Patrick was pretty dazed had to figure out how to actually get to his own skin! Once the undershirt was lost he was able to tuck her in his button down for a little "Check each other out time". Those two have barely been apart since then!

After everything we've been through to become parents I still can't believe that we have her! It was one seriously amazing day...
