I'll need to call you that as often as I can just to remind me how quickly you are zooming through your babyhood! Favorite memory this month- Your Mimi and I were taking you on a plane ride to TX and you were as active as can be. All afternoon you'd been belly laughing through games of peek-a-boo and flirting with the flight attendants. On the second flight you were laying across my lap on your belly and peeked back at Mimi with a huge grin and intention in your eyes. You buried your face.. then popped back up! You were playing peek-a-boo! Over and Over (and Over!) we played. You played with the Steward, You played with your Pops, You played with the Ladies with knitting- You were the Peekaboo champ of Southeast Texas! How fun it is to see you process things and act on them. :)
A sweet result of peekaboo is you've started burying your face in my shoulder. My heart crept up into my throat the first time your sleepy face nuzzled into my neck and your small fists clung a little tighter to my shirt. A close match for the first time you smiled at me kiddo!
Daddee has been on a trip this whole month, it's broken his heart to miss out on so much and you two have spent lots of time on the phone telling secret stories that Momma's not invited to hear. You and I did get to spend lots of time with Mimi. First at our house then we joined Pops, Uncle Marty and GinaGreat in Houston. You were so great with all of them and quickly figured out who they were and that you L-O-V-E-D them. It's been a few years since Pops was greeted with such child adoration when he came home from work! At the end of Daddee's trip he met up with us in Texas and ZING went our heartstrings! You looked at him..thought about it...and beamed! We could actually see you go "Hmmm..hey I know you....your DADDEE! (Technically you were baptised at six months and one day so we'll add that to next months note!)
Other cool things you did this month- Went to knitting club(s), flew to Texas, was babysat by your Uncle Marty, met the Belz family, won over a 100 people, went to the Rodeo, pet a Lama, grew a teeny bit more hair, had a playdate at a kiddie gym, became steady with your sitting, figured out that dogs come running when you throw food on the floor, went swimming in an outdoor pool, played toy soup (toys in the bowl, out of the bowl, in the bowl), learned to cough (thanks Mimi!) and won your momma's heart all over again.
I Heart You,
M
