Baby Sign

Mid last week Dailey gave us a serious Wow moment...We've been using the signs for "Milk" and "Potty" for a month now with the understanding she would start to know what we meant but would not be using them until she was 9-15 months. Then last week she was fussing up a storm and made it very clear what she wanted! Below is a (poor and forced) recreation of that event. This child is a genius.
There was crying...
So Dadee asked "Do you want milk?"

And Dailey signed "Milk"

Momma said "Did she just sign milk?!"

And Dailey signed "Milk, Milk, Milk!"

"Milk. In. My. Mouth!"

::Lunge:: "FROM YOU!"

  2. Everyday she will amaze you with her intelligence. That is one thing I learned, they are so much smarter than we will ever give them credit for. Hech, I was telling Grandma she could give Jase a peice of C-A-K-E with lunch yesterday, and he looked at her and said, "Yes Grr-ma, I have cake." I can't even spell things anymore with out my 2 year old knowing what I'm saying. I'm telling you, Claire, us parents don't stand a chance up against these baby geniuses!

  5. we did sign language with all of ours and it was WONDERFUL! It cuts down on a lot of their frustration and fussing because they can TELL YOU WHAT THEY WANT! Way to go!!! I recommend getting the book BABY SIGNS for a lot more signs to learn!
